Spousetivities at VMworld 2016 - Viva Las Vegas!

This day starts early with a departure of 9AM from Mandalay Bay. Don't worry, a continental breakfast is served on the tour bus (no coffee so bring that if you're like me and need your morning java!) on our way to the Valley of Fire. Dedicated in 1935, Valley of Fire is Nevada's oldest and largest state park. The valley derives its name from the vibrant red sandstone formations and the stark beauty of the Mojave Desert. Ancient trees and early man are represented throughout the park as evidenced by petrified wood and 3,000 year old Indian petroglyphs. The tour will include incredible photo opportunities and must see geological features. During this tour, you will see the Atlatl Rock, Elephant Rock, Fire Canyon, Little Mouse, and natural water basin known as the Mouse Tank. Our final stop will be Rainbow Vista viewpoint, which reveals a vast area of multi-colored rocks stretching for miles. This panoramic view is a great place to take pictures so don't forget the camera! This day of beautiful nature will include a boxed lunch from Honey Baked Ham and will end around 4:00PM where you will be delivered back the Mandalay Bay in time to grab some dinner and party or rest for the next days adventure!

This tour is for those who are looking for a fairly close event. The tour will depart Mandalay Bay at 9:00 AM. A light snack will be provided in case you skipped or missed breakfast. Along the way, your talented tour guide will share points of interest and answer any of your questions. As you leave Boulder City, keep your eyes peeled for views of the shoreline of picturesque Lake Mead, the largest man-made reservoir in the United States! Upon arriving at the Dam, you will enjoy a tour of the facility and have plenty of photo opportunities. You will also be given the view this amazing facility from the new bridge overpass for more breathtaking photos. As we head back to the city, you'll enjoy lunch at the Historic Boulder City Hotel: Built in 1933 to accommodate dignitaries visiting the construction of Boulder Dam (later named Hoover Dam), the historic Boulder Dam Hotel preserves the classic style of the era while providing all of the comforts today's travelers. The return time is approximately 4:30 PM.
