VMworld Barcelona 2017

Departing the conference center at 8:30, we will visit some tiny medieval villages in the Empordà region. The Empordà area is north of Barcelona, inland from the Costa Brava and is one of the most well-preserved medieval areas in Spain. We will stroll through the tiny cobblestone streets of the village of Monells and take in the beauty and tranquility of this incredibly well-preserved stone village, with all of its arches and the porticoed main plaza. After having a coffee (or other beverage) in a peaceful plaza, we'll drive to the fortified medieval village of Peratallada. The name of this village comes from "Pedra Tallada" or "carved/cut stone", and Peratallada is definitely one of the most authentically beautiful villages in Catalunya, with its labyrinth of cobblestone streets built around the fairytale-like castle. After finishing a leisurely exploration of the village, we'll have lunch at a Catalan countryside restaurant, followed by a visit and 3-product tasting at a small Empordà winery. Return to the conference center will be approximately 6.30PM.
