Spousetivities at VMworld Barcelona 2018

We'll depart Barcelona at 8:30am from the city and begin by driving northeast about 1.5 hours to the white-washed coastal village of Calella de Palafrugell, where you'll feel like you just stepped into a postcard. Arguably one of the most emblematic stretches of the Costa Brava (which means "rugged coast"), we'll begin by exploring the tiny fishing village of Calella, enjoy the beach and boardwalk, take in the views of the clear, blue-green water of the Mediterranean and perhaps have a coffee at a sea-front café. From there, we'll enjoy a leisurely walk along a wide, picturesque path that winds north along the coastline to the next village, Llafranc. During the walk, you'll be privy to some of the most enchanting views of the Costa Brava's tiny coves and beaches, as well as the dramatic rocks and cliffs that surround them, guarding their exceptional singularity.

From Llafranc, we'll drive a few kilometers inland to Pals, one of the most well-preserved and beautiful medieval villages in all of Catalunya. Pals is full of tiny cobbled streets, lined with centuries-old stone buildings and window sills full of flowers. We'll explore this tiny village, taking in all of the stone arches, Moorish arches, and the Romanesque and Gothic doorways and windows, also stopping to admire the 10th century Church of Sant Pere (Saint Peter). You'll love strolling the quiet streets to take in the beauty and serenity of this gorgeous village. We'll enjoy a lunch of traditional Catalan cuisine at a local countryside restaurant in or nearby Pals.

The final stop of the day will be a fantastic, small winery in the Empordà region, which is just a short drive from the village of Pals. You'll enjoy a tour of the wine-making facilities and cellars, followed by a 3-4 product tasting of their red, white and rosé wines. Once this visit has concluded, we'll begin the 1.5 hour return to Barcelona, arriving around 7:00pm.
